Knowledge is Light

                                                               Knowledge is light

Narrated Muawiya:I heard Allah's Apostle saying, "If Allah wants to do good to a person, He makes him comprehend the religion.(Bukhari Shareef 71)
Knowledge is light from almighty Allah. It enlights the deeds of human beings. The more we collect it, the more we close to Allah. Those who fear Allah intensely among his slaves are scholars.
Prophet emphasizes through his glorious words the significance of imbibing knowledge both material and spiritual. He says “One who is in quest of knowledge; Allah will ease for him the way to paradise”. And Allah’s angels help him as other things in the world even the fishes in the ocean pray for.
People may differ greatly in their abilities and areas of interest especially in eduvation, but it should be supportable by the Shariah. So it is an individual obligation for us to know the Shariah rules related to our own lives and actions. Thus it is our duty to learn Shariah teachings about Salat, Fasting, Hajj, and Zakat. For a businessman, it is his religious responsibility to learn Islam's teachings about economics and Halal and Haram transactions. For a person getting ready to get married, it is his religious duty to learn Islamic teachings about marriage and spousal rights and responsibilities
It is Fard (obligatory duty) for the husband to know his obligations towards his wife, similarly for the wife to know her responsibilities towards her husband, parent towards the child, child towards the parents and so on.
Today we have millions of people from Islamic family background who might have obtained many degrees and diploma but they are not much conscious about how to read the Holy Qur’an or offer the Salat, or even perform wudu (Ablution). They won’t have any idea about Islamic teachings regarding their private, business, and social life.
In Islam knowledge comes before action. So the acting before getting proper knowledge in certain religious subjects may lead to more dangerous consequence. It was happened for the majority of deceptive groups in Islam. Knowledge is the fuel of deeds and performances. It occupies a lofty position near Allah than even worshiping. And it is the key to get the pleasure of Allah.
As well as the spiritual and moral learning is the fundamental component other permissible education is also a vital portion in Islam. Let us see what Qur’an says. “Do they not look at the camels, how they are made. And at the sky, how it is raised high. And, at mountains, how they are fixed firm. And at the earth, how it is spread it out”.(Qura’n 88:17-20)
The Holy Qur’an indicates through these verses to pursue knowledge in different topics like zoology, astronomy, orology, and geology. It acknowledges that it is essential to be acquainted with both material and religious education
